Bio

Canadian Gospel Music Award Nominee, Cheryl Dickson Neal is a Hamilton, Ontario based singer/songwriter, recording artist, pianist and music instructor. Cheryl has dedicated her life to perfecting her craft and touching the lives of many through her music.

Her natural ability to compose music and play by ear from a young age has been mastered with an impressive path of classical training including Royal Conservatory of Music, an Honours Diploma in Jazz from Mohawk College, an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Music education from McMaster University and Songwriting at Berklee College of Music.  

Since the release of My Prayer in 2010, Cheryl has been ministering at in-home concerts, large corporate gatherings and in churches across Canada as an inspirational singer/songwriter. She shares her testimony of faith through her songs which are known for their raw, emotional lyrics overflowing with heartfelt honesty.  Since almost every one of her songs has a relatable story behind it based on a life experience, her listeners are able to find their own personal connection to her lyrics. 

Cheryl also has been performing as a pianist for weddings, corporate events and private parties in the greater Hamilton, Toronto and Niagara area for over 25 years.  She is a music instructor at Mohawk College and successfully runs Dickson Music Studio in her home in Hamilton where she works as a music teacher giving piano, vocal and theory lessons. 

After 25 years of performing, teaching and composing music, Cheryl’s professionalism, musicality and charisma are consistently evident when you watch her perform, listen to her music and experience her mentorship.
