My Teaching Philosophy
“I want to create a comfortable atmosphere for every student to learn in. It is my goal to help students find great enjoyment in making music and I want to do this in the most fun, exciting and interesting way possible. Every student’s musical goals and interests are different and unique, that’s why everyone’s lesson is customized to suit their individual needs.”

Styles & Genres
Once students begin to master the basics, they can choose your favorite style of music to learn whether it is Classical, Pop, Jazz, or Gospel. As they continue to improve, they can also learn other aspects of music that will enhance their playing and versatility. Cheryl is fully qualified to prepare students to take piano and theory exams. Other important musical aspects that are incorporate into the lessons include ear training, improvising, arranging music to suit your own style or level, and even composing your very own song! These are some of the things you have to look forward to in the future as you press towards your dream of playing your favorite music or becoming a great musician. It is Cheryl’s goal to help every student become the best pianist they can be. Remember: Daily practice is the key!

Recitals
Learning performance skills and sharing their musical talents within the community is a great goal for students to attain. Students have the opportunity to display their talents at our annual Christmas Recital held at a local retirement home and at our annual Spring Recital where they are able to invite friends and family to hear them perform and to celebrate their developing talents with them.
